Long–term goals, which can be reached through teamwork or the outcome of habits, can be difficult to define and prioritize, especially in view of their potential impact or importance. Here is a list of ideas that can help inspire defining the most impactful ones.
There are various ways to aim for and reach a large, impactful goal, such as influencing towards or implementing improvements, through social hierarchy, or through building a family and raising children.
Influencing towards or implementing improvements
Aiming for a cause beyond oneself can prove to be a real benefit for one‘s self–esteem and for the world. Here are some general goals which can be either aimed at directly or as part of a project:
- Balancing human impact: Lowering our footprint while enhancing our comfort and safety is key for overall enhanced wellbeing
- Enhancing care and wellness of other sentient beings: Provides recognition of oneself or a coommunity towards others.
- Fostering fair and enhanced relationships/organizations: Enabler of positivy and progress
- Enabling others to reach successful wellness: Usually a win-win for all parties
- Developing useful technologies: Potentially makes the world more comfortable, safer, or more productive thus lowering individual footprint
- Improving education, building up knowledge: Way to efficiently collaborate to create value
- Enhancing entertainment: Creates valuable activities and diversity for people to enjoy
- Raising children: Not only is building a family key to survival, but it is also a chance to transmit your knowledge while having challenges and fun. It can be seen as a great experience for social improvement and ways to collaborate efficiently.
- Social Hierarchy: Often seen as valuable, securing a social position may not be effective when the organization itself is not leading to a positive outcome. Nonetheless, a social system is likely necessary in society, which means climbing the social hierarchy may go hand in hand with improving the world.
